We are thrilled to share that Midwest Mini Sheep was recently featured in the news. The local publication, The Echo, published an article detailing our journey, our farm management, and the milestone achievements of our breeding program.

The feature highlights our foundational work with Ouessant sheep, which hold the Guinness World Record for the smallest sheep breed. The article covers the history of our program, including the challenges of sourcing genetics during the decade-long import ban, our laparoscopic artificial insemination project, and the arrival of our lambs. It also gives a glimpse into daily operations, from the logistical and administrative planning to the hands-on daily labor, building projects, and community support that keep the farm running smoothly.

We are incredibly proud to see our efforts to protect, preserve, and expand these unique heritage breeds recognized publicly. You can read the full feature, written by Jack Webb, directly on their website: Local Farm Breeds First Purebred Ouessant Sheep in the U.S.
